The Journal considers articles for publication using a two-tiered process. Our Submissions Editors conduct a preliminary screening of articles to determine whether they meet the journal’s mandate. Following that review, the entire membership votes whether to extend an offer. We deeply appreciate your patience as we continue our long-standing commitment to a non-hierarchical decision-making process within the often hierarchical law school world. We publish once a year.

Students, alumni, and more are invited to submit shorter critical notes, book reviews, responses to articles published in BGLJ, responses to recent events and other commentaries. Suggested length is 500 to 1000 words. Submissions should meet our mandate. All work is peer edited and published here on our site. Email submissions to bglj.online@berkeley.edu.
